LIVINGSTON,
Ala.--The University of West Alabama’s Division of
Community Outreach Services will host two free
financial seminars on Tuesday, Feb. 19 to help
answer questions about income taxes and provide
several useful strategies for managing money.
First, the Small Business Development Center will
host a “Small Business Tax Seminar” from 8 a.m.
until noon in the Continuing Education Building at
Alabama Southern College’s Demopolis Campus. The
workshop will provide small business owners and
self-employed individuals with an overview of
federal and state tax requirements to help them
understand and meet their tax obligations.
The day’s second workshop will provide useful
information on how to navigate these uncertain
financial times. “Show me the Money! Strategies for
Financial Success in Uncertain Times” is set for
5:30-7:30 p.m. in UWA’s Brock Y-Hall. Highlights
will include learning where to turn for free tax
filing advice and how to make the most of the tax
rebates, discovering how to get the training needed
for a better job and finding out if refinancing or
purchasing a home is the right move.
This workshop includes dinner and the chance to win
a $100 gift certificate for the grand opening of the
new Fred’s in Livingston. Seating is limited to the
first 50 participants. The workshop is sponsored by
UWA’s Division of Community Outreach Services,
Regions Bank, the City of Livingston, and
Greene/Sumter Enterprise Community.
