LIVINGSTON,
Ala.--Seven outstanding young women will represent
The University of West Alabama on the 2007
homecoming court. The homecoming queen, who is
chosen from the five elected upperclassmen, is a
well-guarded secret that will be announced during
the annual Serendipity talent show. The other four
nominees for homecoming queen will serve as the
queen’s court, along with the freshman and sophomore
maids.

Tilley |
Whitney Tilley of Winfield was chosen to represent
the freshman class. She is the daughter of Chuck and
Donna Tilley. A business administration major,
Tilley is a member of the UWA cheerleading squad.
|

Tucker |
Lara Tucker of Demopolis will represent the
sophomore class. She is the daughter of Ken and Mary
Tucker. Tucker is a sociology major. She is a member
of the UWA cheerleading squad, LEAD alumni
ambassadors and Phi Mu sorority. A Campus Activities
Board director, she is also very active in
intramural sports.

Berry |
Brittany Berry of LaGrange, Ky., is a member of the
homecoming court. She is the daughter of Randall and
Tracey Berry. She is a senior pre-dentistry major.
Berry has been a member of the UWA cross country and
softball teams. She serves as a resident assistant
and a Student Government Association representative.
Chosen as one of Livingston’s Loveliest, she is also
active in intramural sports.

Gracie |
Donmonique Gracie of Demopolis is a member of the
homecoming court. She is the daughter of George and
Aretha Gracie. Gracie is a junior English language
arts education major. She serves as vice president
of the Student Government Association. Gracie is a
member of Blue Key, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Eta Sigma
and Sigma Tau Delta honor societies and the student
newspaper staff. She has also served as SGA business
manager, an Orientation Leader, a UWA Ambassador, a
peer tutor and a LEAD alumni ambassador.

Green |
Samantha Green of Montevallo is a member of the
homecoming court. She is the daughter of Samuel and
Yvonne Green. Green is a junior majoring in English
language arts education. She is a member of the
Stars of Alabama dance team and the Paragon yearbook
staff. She has also served as an SGA senator, an
Orientation Leader, a UWA Ambassador and a LEAD
alumni ambassador.

Peabody |
Amanda Peabody of Mobile is a member of the
homecoming court. She is the daughter of Robert and
Gail Peabody. She is a junior majoring in English
language arts education. Peabody serves as captain
of the Stars of Alabama dance team, a hall director
and a LEAD alumni ambassador. She is a member of Phi
Eta Sigma and Blue Key honor societies and the UWA
Honors Program. Peabody has also served as a peer
tutor and a UWA Theatre cast member.

Smith |
Kim Smith of Livingston is a member of the
homecoming court. She is the daughter of Brad and
Kathy Smith. Smith is a junior business
administration major. She has served as an
Orientation Leader, resident assistant, Student
Government Association representative and a member
of the Stars of Alabama dance team. She is also a
member of Phi Mu sorority, Delta Sigma Pi business
fraternity and Blue Key honor society. She is also
active in the Presbyterian Campus Ministries. A LEAD
alumni ambassador, Smith was also chosen one of
Livingston’s Loveliest.
The seven ladies will ride through downtown
Livingston in the homecoming parade Saturday, Nov.
3, at 10:45 a.m. They will also be presented during
halftime of the UWA-Delta State football game. Last
year’s queen Audrey McClendon Crawford and President
Richard Holland will crown the new homecoming queen. |
