LIVINGSTON,
Ala.--In a Thursday [Oct. 25] ceremony, University
of West Alabama officials, students, alumni and
friends will dedicate the Dorothy S. Saad Nursing
Wing in Brock Hall, home of the University’s Ira D.
Pruitt Division of Nursing.
The 3:30 p.m. public ceremony in Webb Hall Parlor
will honor the financial commitment of UWA trustee
and 1975 business administration graduate Alexander
J. Saad of Mobile. In honor of his generosity, the
wing will be named for his late mother, a member of
the Alabama Nursing Hall of Fame.
UWA’s nursing division was established over three
decades ago. Accredited by the National League for
Nursing Accrediting Commission, the division ranks
in the top 10 percent of Alabama programs, all-time,
for the number of graduates who pass the national
registered nurse licensure exam.
