UWA sets Super Tiger Day--University of West Alabama Director of Athletics, E. J. Brophy, has announced March 17 as Super Tiger Day on the UWA campus. Read more
 
Tucker heads Regional Center for Community and Economic Development--Dr. Ken Tucker was recently named interim director of The University of West Alabama’s Regional Center for Community and Economic Development, acting as a facilitator of economic development in the Black Belt region. Read more
 
Iraqi Fulbright Scholars comes to UWA--Rounding out the 2007 Fulbright Lecture Series, UWA welcomes Dr. Lahay A. Hussein Al- Damee, visiting Fulbright Scholar from Iraq. A sociologist, Hussein’s interests include the social conditions of women in the Middle East with a special emphasis on women in Iraq. She will present a lecture entitled, "Development of Veil Use in Iraq,” on Thursday, March 15, at 6 p.m. in Brock Y-Hall on the Livingston campus. Read more
  
Tigers clinch #3 seed with win over Montevallo--The University of West Alabama women’s basketball team clinched the No. 3 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament by downing Montevallo, 73-60. Read more

 


 

West Alabama sweeps Arkansas Tech--The UWA baseball team won for the fourth consecutive time, sweeping Arkansas Tech, 12-4 and 9-5 in eight innings Sunday afternoon at Tech Field. Read more
West Alabama softball rained out--The final day of competition at the UAH Charger Chillout at Wilson-Morgan Softball Complex was cancelled due to field conditions caused by overnight storms as the UWA softball team finished play by going 2-2 in tournament action. Read more

UWA concludes season, bids farewell to Reedy--The University of West Alabama closed out its regular season with a 93-62 loss to #18 Montevallo on Senior Night. Read more

  
Montgomery Area Alumni Chapter organizational meeting--The Office of Alumni Affairs will host on organizational meeting for the Montgomery Area Alumni Chapter at Sports Palace Cafe and Grill on Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m. for UWA alumni from Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery counties. Sumter County Alumni Chapter cookout--The Sumter County Chapter of the National Alumni Association will host a cookout on Super Tiger Day prior to the UWA-University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball doubleheader March 17 at 3 p.m. at Tartt Field.
