UWA receives $25,000 from TCU for scholarship
endowment--The
University of West Alabama’s alumni scholarship fund
recently received a $25,000 increase for a
scholarship endowment from Tuscaloosa Credit Union.

Tiger
Sports Academy planned for June--The
Department of Campus Recreation will host a pair of
summer sports camps at UWA next month. The first
camp will be held June 18-22 for children ages 7-10.
The second camp, for kids ages 11-14 , is set for
June 25-29. The camps will last from 8:30 a.m.-4
p.m. daily. Activities include tennis, swimming,
flag football, volleyball and basketball. The cost
is $120 per child, with discounts for multiple
children and for children of UWA students, faculty and staff.

announces the UWA Women’s Softball Camp will take
place June 18-21.

UWA cross country inks signees--University
of West Alabama Cross Country Coach Don Medeiros
announced the signing of the first three members of
the 2007 recruiting class, as Austin Enriquez of
Starr’s Mill (GA) High School,
Jonathan
Sellers of Lithia Springs (GA) High School
and West Lauderdale High School’s Corey Rigdon
signed with UWA.

| National Alumni Association hosts social on
the coast--The UWA National
Alumni Association will host a social Tuesday, June
5 at 6:30 p.m. at Bluegill Restaurant in Spanish
Fort. All area alumni are invited. There will be a
cash bar, and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Please

| Mobile County Alumni Chapter four-man
scramble set for June 9--The
Mobile County Chapter of the National Alumni
Association will host a four-man scramble golf
tournament Saturday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill
Golf Course. The cost is $240 per team. Prizes will
be awarded. Proceeds will fund UWA scholarships.

| Two-man scramble planned for June 30 in
Livingston--The UWA/Coca-Cola
Golf Tournament for Academic Excellence is set for
Saturday, June 30 at the Livingston Country Club.
The two-man scramble is $150 per team, which
includes 27 holes of golf and a barbeque lunch.
Registration is set for 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m. tee
time. Cash prizes will be awarded. Proceeds will
fund UWA scholarships. Space is limited to 32 teams.
