Homecoming royalty--Senior Brittany Berry, pictured with Luie, was crowned 2007 Homecoming Queen at halftime of the UWA-Delta State football game. She is the daughter of Randall and Tracey Berry of LaGrange, Ky. A senior biology major,  Brittany has been a member of the UWA cross country and softball teams. She serves as a resident assistant and a Student Government Association representative. Chosen as one of Livingston’s Loveliest, she is also active in intramural sports.
 
UWA presents Alumni Achievement Awards at Homecoming--The University of West Alabama and the UWA National Alumni Association presented several Alumni Achievement Awards as part of the recent Homecoming celebration at the institution. Established in 1994, these awards recognize outstanding alumni from each UWA college or division and organizations that make valuable contributions to the West Alabama community. Read more

UWA to host Kansas City Barbeque Society judging school--With the many choices available in our region, can you tell the difference between good barbecue and great barbecue? Two inducted into UWA Athletic Hall of Fame--The University of West Alabama inducted the 2007 Class of the UWA Athletic Hall of Fame at Homecoming.  Danny Parker, a former baseball star, and Jackie O’Neal, a former football standout, had their names inscribed into UWA athletic history when they joined 50 other UWA Hall-of-Fame members displayed in the James P. Homer Field House. Read more
 
UWA concludes season at GSC tourney--The University of West Alabama volleyball team dropped its opening round match to Henderson State 3-0 in the 2007 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Tournament on the campus of Harding University. Read more

 

Tiger Wranglers post strong showing at UWA Rodeo--The University of West Alabama Wranglers hosted the 11th Annual Rodeo Showdown, as the UWA women finished second with 300 points and the UWA men in seventh with 205 points. Read more

 

Tigers fall to No. 10 UNA in season finale--The 2007 University of West Alabama football season came to close on Saturday night with a 49-20 setback to in-state rival and nationally ranked North Alabama at Braly Municipal Stadium. Read more
 
Tigers fall in exhibition play at Alabama--The University of West Alabama women’s basketball team took to the hardwood on Wednesday, October 31, against the University of Alabama in an exhibition contest, but dropped the decision to the Crimson Tide 80-53 at Coleman Coliseum. Read more
 
UWA falls to Troy in exhibition contest--The University of West Alabama men’s basketball team closed out exhibition play on Monday with a 112-67 setback to Troy University at Trojan Arena. Read more

  • Nov. 15--Miss Paragon pageant. Casual wear at 3 p.m. in the SUB lobby. Formal wear at 7 p.m. in Bibb Graves Auditorium.
