The Sucarnochee Revue heads to Livingston,
Tuscaloosa--The
Sucarnochee Revue, the nationally syndicated radio
program which showcases Black Belt music to
listeners across the nation and the world, will tape
a pair of shows in West Alabama this month, taking
the stage in Livingston on Friday, Oct. 19 and playing
Tuscaloosa’s Bama Theatre on Friday, Oct. 26.

UWA hosts free child care conference--UWA
invites child care providers to the fifth annual
quality child care conference sponsored by the Julia
Tutwiler College of Education. “Working in Harmony,”
a free one-day conference, features sessions on
diversity, inclusion, child development, positive
guidance and a variety of other topics. The
conference will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 from 8
a.m.-2 p.m. at the Bell Conference Center.

Annual water festival makes a splash with
fourth-graders--The
University of West Alabama will host approximately
650 fourth-graders Tuesday, Oct. 23, for the fifth
annual Sumter/Marengo Water Festival. The students
from Marengo and Sumter county schools will
participate in classroom sessions and hands-on
activities focusing on groundwater, the hydrologic
cycle and the importance of water to all life.

Sumter County Fine Arts Council presents Italian
string musicians the Quartetto di Venezia, or Venice
Quartet, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the

University of West Alabama volleyball team finished
the Montevallo Coca-Cola Classic with back-to-back
3-0 sweeps of Armstrong Atlantic State and Lincoln
Memorial on Saturday at the Student Activities
Center on the UM campus.

remaining in the game handed The University of West
Alabama its second-straight heart breaking setback,
falling 30-28 Saturday night at Grisham Stadium.

| Alumni tailgates planned for Oct.
20 & 25--The National Alumni
Association is hosting a pair of pre-game socials
prior to UWA's next home games. On Oct. 20, alumni
and friends from the greater Montgomery area and
Choctaw and Wilcox counties are invited to enjoy
food, drinks and live music on the President's Home
patio before the Valdosta State game. Prior to the
Oct. 25 televised Arkansas-Monticello match up, all
alumni are invited to socialize with fellow Tiger
fans. Both socials take place from 5-6:30 p.m. For more
