University of West Alabama will celebrate homecoming
in Livingston Oct. 22-25, with a variety of exciting
events planned to honor alumni of the 1970s and
1980s.

Division of Online Programs awards degrees around
the world--This
fall, over 2,000 students are taking UWA classes
online in 13 master’s degree and two bachelor’s
degree programs accredited by the National Council
for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. UWA
boasts online graduates from across the state, the
country and the world.

University of West Alabama and the University of
Alabama today announced a program designed to
encourage Black Belt students to seek engineering
degrees through the universities’ dual-degree
partnership.

University of West Alabama invites child care

Tigers
pick up non-conference road win at Concordia--The
University of West Alabama closed out the
non-conference slate with a 24-7 road win over
in-state foe Concordia College in Selma on Saturday
at Memorial Stadium. UWA has claimed all four
meetings between the two schools on the gridiron.

Wranglers compete at SAU Rodeo; Hedrick wins
All-Around--The University of
West Alabama Wranglers participated in their second
rodeo of the 2008-09 season with the UWA women
finishing in third place with 280 points and the men
finishing in sixth with 200 points. Lauren Hedrick
received the All-Around Cowgirl Award.

falls at North Alabama --The
University of West Alabama dropped a 3-1 decision to
in-state rival North Alabama in Gulf South
Conference volleyball action on Friday night at
Flowers Hall. The setback halts a three-match
winning streak by the volleyball Tigers.

Enriquez
leads UWA Cross Country at Auburn Invite--West
Alabama sophomore Austin Enriquez turned in a
season-best finish at the Auburn Invitational on
Saturday, placing fourth overall and guiding UWA to
a sixth-place finish on the men’s side while the
Tiger women finished ninth in the Blue division of
the meet.

| Mobile County meeting Oct. 7--The Mobile
County Alumni Chapter's annual fall dinner meeting
is set for Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Gordon
Oaks Center at Knollwood. Dr. Ken
Tucker, dean of the College of Business and
president of the UWA Foundation Board of Directors,
will serve as guest speaker. Tickets are $10 per

| Baldwin County group meets Oct. 13--The
Baldwin County Alumni Chapter, one of UWA's
newest chartered organizations, will meet Monday,
Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. at Felix's Fish Camp, located at
1530 Battleship Parkway in Spanish Fort. Plans to
charter a bus to the UWA/UNA football game will be
discussed. Dinner is Dutch treat.

will honor alumni of the 1970s and 1980s at
Homecoming 2008 festivities on Oct. 24-25. Plans
include the annual Friday night party at the Moon
House and Saturday's parade, NAA meeting, reunions,
awards and more. The Tigers will face West Georgia
in a 5 p.m. matchup at Tiger Stadium. Come home to
